Zhenbeibao West Film Art Center

Zhenbeibao Western Studios is located in Xixia District, Yinchuan City. In this studio featuring simplicity, roughness, and desolation, classic films such as “The Wrangler”, “Red Sorghum”, “A Chinese Journey to the West”, “Assassin’s Tomb”, “Jin Yiwei” and other influential films have been filmed. In Yubu, a large number of celebrities in the Chinese film industry have left their footprints here, such as Gong Li, Jiang Wen, Zhang Yimou, Ge You, Zhou Xingchi, Donnie Yen and so on.

The cinema is composed of three parts: Mingcheng, Qingcheng and Laoyinchuan Street. Tourists can visit the cinema along the “figure 8” route of Laoyinchuan Street. Here, you can see the city appearance of Yinchuan in the first half of the 20th century, and eat local traditional snacks such as haggis soup.

The Ming City and Qing City in the film city were rebuilt from the military castles left over from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The city outlines still retain the unique desolate, dilapidated and undefeated scene outside the Northwest Great Wall. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, you can see many familiar movie scenes, such as: the gate tower where Monkey King and Fairy Zixia stand in “A Chinese Journey to the West”, the platform where the Bull Demon King invites relatives, and the platform where the Tang monk is tortured; The moon gate in “Red Sorghum”, the brewing workshop where “my grandfather” urinated after drunk, the sedan chair that Jiu’er rode on when he got married, the big wine tank, bowls, etc.

There are costumes and props for rent in many places in the studio. Here you can wear a set of costumes in the play, use the props in the movie, walk around the scene of the movie, and experience the addiction of being a star.
