Yanjia Garden (Xianyuan) in the Qing Dynasty
In the Yanjia Garden (Xianyuan) in the Qing Dynasty, Shangxian Hall, a nanmu hall that has gone through more than 400 years, is enough to illustrate its “tall and superior”. There is a big stage in Hongyin Mountain House. Qianlong often came here to watch the theater during his six voyages to the south of the Yangtze River. Twenty imperial decrees of the emperor are displayed in the house. The Xiaoyin Garden in Hongyinshanfang is the former residence of Shen Shou, the “Queen of Embroidery”. In the ancient pine garden in the Qing Dynasty, the carvings in the hall are very beautiful. In the back garden there is a podocarpus more than 500 years old. The Yao Jianping Embroidery Art Museum on the west side of the back garden is also worth seeing. Bangsan Mansion is famous for its exquisite brick carvings, wood carvings and stone carvings.
