Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum
Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is located in the Zhongshan Scenic Area in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing, adjacent to Linggu Temple in the east and Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum in the west. The entire building complex is built along the mountain, arranged on a central axis from south to north, and the overall cemetery is in the shape of an “alarm bell”.
The overall distribution of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum
Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum includes buildings such as Boaifang, tomb passage, mausoleum gate, stele pavilion, sacrificial hall and tomb. There is a tall granite archway in the entrance square of the mausoleum, on which are two gold characters of “fraternity”. Going north through Boaifang, there is a nearly 400-meter-long tomb passage, with a total of 392 stone steps and a drop of 73 meters. Walk along the tomb path to the mausoleum gate. The top is blue glazed tiles, and the four characters “The world is the public” are written on the forehead. Then enter the stele pavilion and continue forward until the sacrificial hall.

To reach the top of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, you need to climb long steps, and there will be a platform for resting after each step. Here is a design visual technique, so that when you look from bottom to top, you can only see the steps but not the platform, and when you look from top to bottom, you can only see the platform but not the steps. You may wish to pay attention. There are two large tripods on the fifth platform, and one of the tripod walls still has a shell hole caused by the Japanese invasion of China.
sacrificial hall
On the top of the mountain is the main building of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, the sacrificial hall, which is a palace-like building. On the top of the middle door is embedded a vertical forehead of “Heaven and Earth Righteousness”. In the center of the sacrificial hall is a seated statue carved from white marble, and six reliefs are engraved on the base.
tomb
There are two copper tomb doors in the sacrificial hall, and inside the door is a circular tomb chamber with a long tomb in the center. The tomb is not open to the public.

Scenic food and drink
Since Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Scenic Area is a mausoleum park, food and drink sales are not allowed in the scenic area. Therefore, visitors need to bring their own food and drinks.
Scenic spot explanation:
The interpretation service center (at the entrance of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum) and the tour guide service point of the Boai Square of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum both provide guide explanation services. Line A: All lines (Xiaojing Ding, Boai Memorial Arch, Mausoleum Gate, Stele Pavilion, Sacrificial Hall) less than 30 people (inclusive), manual explanation is 95 yuan for 60-70 minutes, more than 30 people, manual explanation is 100 yuan for 60-70 minutes; Line B: Less than 30 people (inclusive) at the music station, manual explanation is about 45 yuan and 30 minutes, and more than 30 people, manual explanation is about 50 yuan and 30 minutes. Foreign language tour guides use wireless team guides to explain, 30 people in a group, 150 yuan/session, and the explanation time is 70-80 minutes.
